Dear Suzanne, thank you for writing to me. I have tried to get in touch with Lyudmila Jenkins, but I am afraid I didn't succeed. I have been in touch with Alessandra for some months now as she agreed to be my mentor. She has already sent me some very interesting links and I am happy to work with her.

The aPLaNet project is a great idea and I've sent some links to my mentee about using twitter. I hope those links will help her and give ideas..

   Innovative teaching always wins..

Hi Suzanne,

I contacted my mentor but due to time differences and working hours, we didn't actually arrange a session. She said she had seminars and was very busy, so we said we would see what we could do..To be honest, I think we both lost interest and so I'm afraid to say nothing has happened. I have not pressed the topic further as , to be honest, I asked for a mentor who could help me set up a blog/use new applications and I was offered a mentor who could help me with FB, an area I feel ok with. I went along with the offer for the sake of the project, but communication failed - sorry!!

Hello Suzanne,

Thank you so much for the mail. Yes, My mentor, Brad and I have really connected and discussed at length. He's really helpful. However, we've not done much due to my schedule. I have contacted him and we hope to do more this time, especially more commitment from my side. Thank you for the reminder.

Best regard

Lawan

Hi Suzanne,

I've contacted my mentee and we exchanged some messages, but I haven't heard from her lately. I've tried to fix a date to meet online, but then, she never got back to me.

best,

Mercedes

Hi Suzanne, I'm afraid I haven't heard from my mentee for a while - and would frankly like to opt out. I have passed on some information, but think she would benefit more from a teacher teaching in a similar environment. Due to my many voluntary networking commitments (ELTABB, BESIG BOT) I'd like to hand over to someone else. Sorry! Anne

Hi Suzanne, sorry I haven't been in for a while very busy in other networks. Could be available depending on time commitment required. Happy to offer working in online classrooms (I use bb collab) and connecting classrooms using social media (inc. twitter)

Would be happy to try my hand at mentoring around Twitter, but I believe it will be more of a colaboration.  I'm using Twitter as a PLN tool, but have just started using it as a classroom tool, so I'm having a good time fumbling through the process with my students.  But if it ends up being useful to have someone join me in the process I would be very happy to share my experiences.

Hi Suzanne

Sorry again for the silence. I am runninw training workshops for teachers who teach at Navy schools on Improving Speaking activities using IT and have had a very rewarding experience with them. I have used Vokis, videos from ESL learner and Real English and Yahoo Messenger, many of the things I have just learned but have incorporated to my repertoire and am delighted to see the teachers´response. This is what collaborative work is about, isn´t it?

Dear Suzanne

Really sorry I "vanished" but had to train teachers in a city 3,300 metres above sea level and the weather conditions (pouring rain) did not allow my Internet connection. My laptop suffered from altitude sickness!!!.

I am still interested in mentoring and have already submitted the pre-piloting questionnaire to see if I qualify. I must confess I do not use all IT tools but have learned a lot from a course I joined in the BAW2012 besides what i have been learning from self-study and hope I could keep on learning and helping my colleagues in the villages I have visited.

Look forward to hearing from you

Maria Luisa (Mumi)

Hi, Suzanne, thanks a lot for your time but I think I have made a mistake, I shoud start by being a mentee and not a mentor due to my lack of experience working with TICS. Although I´ve been teaching English for a long time now, it seems to me a better idea if I started by being a mentee and learn about other people who could help me improve my own teaching. If that´s possible, I´d love to join the group. Lastly, I´d like to remark that I´m from South America and not Europe, would that be a problem?

Warm regards, Laura

Thanks for the update.

Unfortunately, circumstances have changed since I first thought about being a mentor, and it looks like my schedule will be a bit fuller than I had anticipated this semester, so I'll have to take a rain check on the idea of mentoring someone.  Some colleagues at my institution (http://ncc.metu.edu.tr) would like to work on building a community of practice, so I'm going to support that locally within our institution.  As part of that, we are running a blog for teacher development at http://sfltdu.blogspot.com that consumes a bit of time, on top of the usual teaching duties.  All the best with your venture.
