German is one of the languages of the final resources of the project, so there will be resources in German eventually.

Permalink Reply by Graham Davies on March 31, 2011 at 6:30pm Good to hear that, Joel! German is my No.1 foreign language. German MT speakers make up the third largest group in EUROCALL.

As I am sure you are aware the EU has a policy of especially promoting the teaching and learning of the, 'Less widely used less taught' (LWULT) languages of Europe. The overall policy is for every European citizen to speak their native language and two more.
One of the reasons the aPLaNet project was funded was because the project is language transparent. Firstly, the aPLaNet project does not try to 'Teach' any language, secondly the final resources of the project will be produced in about 8 European languages as a means to maximise the number of educators that can easily use the resources we produce.
aPLaNet is about improving the quality of language teaching in Europe by bringing as many European educators to become autonomous users of the social networks as a professional development tool.
The languages of the project were not chosen because they necessarily represent the largest numbers of speakers of the language in Europe, as this would be unfair to languages that are just as important in a European context. We chose the languages based on the language capabilities of the partnership. As it happens we do have a partner who is proficient in German thus German is one of the languages that the final resources will be available in.

If you need someone who translates the Real association pages into Italian I can do it (I am Italian).

Permalink Reply by Joel Josephson on June 14, 2011 at 2:43pm Very sorry for the late response Anna, I completely missed your message, many apologies.
A translation in to Italian would be very welcome indeed. Do you need me to send you the original word doc or can you copy/paste out of the REAL website? The REAL site manager has also asked for the teezer script to be translated as well please.
Many thanks indeed for the offer Anna.
Permalink Reply by Anna Lazzari on June 15, 2011 at 1:51pm Hi Joel,
Don't worry. I have been so busy teaching recently that I had even forgotten it. Anyway, school is about to finish and I will have more free time.
In order to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings, I think it would be better if you send me a .doc file containing anything that needs to be translated. BTW, what is a "teezer script"?

I can do the Polish translation. Lots of foreign language (other than English) teachers from Poland could benefit from that. Just let me know what exactly needs to be translated as I`m still trying to find my feet around here. Thanks :)
Have a good weekend!

You will find the text on the Real site at: http://www.real-association.eu/news/aplanet-autonomous-personal-lea...
Please can you send the completed text to me directly at: joel_josephson@kindersite.org I will then forward and use.
Many thanks
